File Compressor — Zip and Unzip Files Online
A file compressor (zip tool) combines multiple files into a single .zip archive that's easier to store, share, and transfer. Our free online tool also extracts .zip files so you can access their contents instantly — all without installing any software.
Like every tool on MultiWeb, compression runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server, making this tool safe for sensitive documents, private photos, and confidential data.
Need to protect your archive? Add a password to encrypt your zip file. The tool uses the fflate library for fast, reliable compression and extraction.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, never. All compression and extraction happens entirely in your browser using the fflate library. Your files never leave your device.
Yes. The tool uses AES-256 encryption when you set a password, which is the same encryption standard used by banks and governments. Make sure to remember your password — there's no way to recover it.
Any file type — images, documents, videos, audio, spreadsheets, PDFs, executables, and more. The zip format is universal and works on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
There's no hard limit, but very large files (several GB) may be slow to process in-browser and could consume a lot of memory. For typical use — documents, photos, and small archives — the tool works great.
